Delete your account & data
You can ask us to delete your Clockd account and the personal information associated with it. Here's exactly how it works and what to expect.
How to request deletion
There are two ways to request deletion of your account and data:
1. From within the app
If you use the Clockd staff app or admin portal, open your Profile and choose Delete account, then confirm. Where in-app deletion is available, this is the quickest option.
2. By request
Complete the form on this page, or email support@clockd.com.aufrom the address associated with your account. Tell us the account name (and venue, if you’re a staff member) so we can verify and action your request.
Employees vs. administrators
Clockd is used by employers to manage their staff. If you are an employee, some of your records (such as time and payroll records) are kept by your employer, who controls that data. We will action deletion in coordination with your employer and in line with their legal record-keeping obligations. If you are an administrator/owner, you can request deletion of your account and your business’s data.
What gets deleted
- Your account profile and login credentials
- Personal details held for your account (name, email, phone, PIN)
- Clock photos and attendance records associated with your account, subject to the retention note below
- Device and session information tied to your account
What we may retain, and why
We may retain certain information where we are legally required or permitted to, for example:
- Employment & payroll records your employer must keep under Australian law (e.g. Fair Work record-keeping obligations);
- Records needed to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or comply with legal, tax or accounting obligations;
- Backup copies, which are purged on our normal backup cycle.
Where we retain information, we limit its use to those purposes and delete or de-identify it when it is no longer required.
How long it takes
We acknowledge requests within a few business days and complete verified deletions (other than lawfully retained records) within 30 days. Residual copies in backups are removed within our standard backup retention period.
For more detail on how we handle personal information, see our Privacy Policy.
